The update brings a cloud-aware lightning system, multi-layered Volumetric Clouds, and more.
Technical Artist Dmitry Karpukhin announced the release of Sky Creator 1.30, a new and improved version of the developer's Unreal Engine plug-in to control dynamic weather and time of day. Teased back in August, the update brings a new "cloud-aware lightning system" that allows you to set up customizable lighting bolts, adds multi-layered Volumetric Clouds, and features tons of smaller updates and bug fixes designed to make your workflow more convenient.
For those unaware, the Sky Creator plug-in is an extensive tool to control dynamic time of day and weather settings using realistic volumetric clouds and atmosphere in Unreal Engine. The plug-in allows you to create endless amounts of different-looking weather and lighting conditions and switch any of them in real-time using a built-in weather preset system.
