Sony Reveals the Most Downloaded PlayStation Store Games of 2022
The leader of both PS4 and PS5 charts in the US/Canada was Modern Warfare II, and FIFA 23 took first place on both consoles in Europe.
Sony has revealed its annual list of the most downloaded PS4, PS5, and PlayStation VR games on the PlayStation Store in different regions in 2022.
The leader of the PS5 chart in the US/Canada was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The new Activision shooter surpassed such games as God of War Ragnarök, NBA 2K23, Elden Ring, and Madden NFL 23.
In Europe, the situation was a little different – the most downloaded PS5 game was FIFA 23. It was followed by Modern Warfare II, God of War Ragnarök, Elden Ring, and Grand Theft Auto V.
The PS4 chart in the US/Canada was also topped by Modern Warfare II, ahead of GTA V, Minecraft, Elden Ring, and NBA 2K23. In Europe, the first spot on the PS4 chart was taken by FIFA 23. GTA V came in at the No.2 place, followed by Modern Warfare II, Minecraft, and FIFA 22.
Sony has also published a separate chart of free-to-play PS4 and PS5 games. In both regions, the leader here was Epic Game's Fall Guys – the title transferred to a free-to-play model in June 2022 and, as we see, turned out to be pretty popular among PlayStation players.
Other top-downloaded PS4 and PS5 games in the US/Canada included Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone/Warzone 2.0, MultiVersus, and Overwatch 2. In Europe, the second spot was taken by Warzone/Warzone 2.0 which was followed by Fortnite, while the No.4 and No.5 places were also taken by MultiVersus and Overwatch 2.
As for PS VR titles, Beat Saber, Job Simulator, and SUPERHOT VR dominated the players' choice in both regions.
