It took less than a week for the device's stock to run out.
Despite initial skepticism surrounding Sony's PlayStation Portal, an upcoming handheld device for remote gaming that enables users to stream PlayStation 5 games, it appears that the new gadget has managed to resonate with its audience, as indicated by its official Amazon page.
In less than a week since pre-orders began on September 29, the PlayStation Portal is now sold out on Amazon, with the marketplace displaying a message stating uncertainty about when or if this item will be restocked. Furthermore, this handheld device has ascended to become the ninth most popular product in the PlayStation 5 Controllers category and currently holds the top spot as the #1 New Release in this category.
As noticed by IGN, the device is also sold out on Best Buy:
Previously, Sony revealed the specs of PlayStation Portal, stating that the upcoming device will feature an 8-inch LCD screen with a 1080p resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and all the main features of the wireless DualSense controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Moreover, the handheld is coming equipped with a 3.5mm audio output, allowing the user to connect wired headphones.

In early September, the company also unveiled Portal's release date, saying that the device will be available starting November 15, 2023. The handheld will cost you $199.99 and will require you to buy a PlayStation 5 console in case you don't have one. You can learn more about Portal by clicking this link.
