The well-known American game developer, Insomniac Games, has reportedly been targeted in a cyberattack. The Rhysida ransomware group claims they have accessed extensive information from the developer known for Spider-Man games. This cybersecurity incident came to light when Rhysida made a statement on the dark web, causing concern in the cybersecurity community.

The hackers claim to get information belonging to employees and actors, including Yuri Lowenthal, as well as some materials from the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine. In a darknet post, Rhysida shared several examples of personal data, including screenshots from Marvel's Wolverine.

Speaking of Rhysida, they emerged in the hacker scene around May 2023 and have since targeted numerous companies. The attackers have demanded payment in 50 bitcoins from Insomniac Games, which is over $2 million. If the studio fails to comply within a week, the data will be sold to another party.

"With just 7 days on the clock, seize the opportunity to bid on exclusive, unique, and impressive data. Open your wallets and be ready to buy exclusive data. We sell only to one hand, no reselling, you will be the only owner," stated the hackers.

As of now, Insomniac Games has not confirmed the hack, and there has been no comment from Sony either.
