Starfield's Shattered Space Release Date and Details Revealed

Recently, Bethesda revealed new details about the long-awaited Starfield DLC Shattered Space plot and announced its release date.

The new DLC will focus on the people of House Va'Ruun, who experimented with the grav drive technology, which led to disastrous results. In some sort, Shattered Space is a contemplation on the question, "What happens when humanity's quest for knowledge goes too far?"

Shattered Space is almost entirely set on a single planet. It provides insights into the Va'Ruun culture and reveals some details unaddressed in the main series – for instance, why Va'Ruun society isolated itself from other Settled Systems. Shattered Space is "a multi-hour mystery that will take you into the long-lost heart of Va'Ruun culture," as stated in the report.

This Starfield's DLC experiments with new tones and genres, but the story's overall mood is horror. "The tone goes further with horror tropes than Starfield has done before," share the developers.

There were rumors that Bethesda would ship the new Starfield DLC this September after a possible announcement at Gamescom. It turned out to be true – Shattered Space is scheduled for September 30, 2024.

Also, another Starfield expansion, Starborn, might appear as a trademark with the title "Starborn" recently filed by ZeniMax, an American game developer and publisher that retains legal rights to multiple trademarks, including Bethesda.
