State of Play: Gaming Preferences Study

NP Strategy Group released survey results that show gamers’ preferences in devices and genres.

NP Strategy Group showed results of its survey covering the gamers’ preferences in devices, genres, how they find the game, and more.

According to the study, consoles are the leading gaming device with 43% picking them. Smartphones go after them with 24%. The least used device is VR sets with 1% only. Numbers also showed gender differences in choosing a device. Women tend to choose smartphones twice more often than men with 43% and 18% respectively.

There is a gap between genre preferences, too. According to the study, men prefer action, shooter, sport, RFG, and adventure games. Women, on the other hand, play mobile, casual games mostly.
