The new badge boasts the original army green color scheme Steam had on release.
Steam, the largest digital distribution service and storefront for video games, has recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. To mark this occasion, Valve has given the very first Steam accounts a special edition of the Years of Service badge.
For those who might not be familiar, the Years of Service badge is given to every Steam user when their account turns one year old and is then updated every year, displaying the account's age and the exact day when it was registered.
The first accounts were created shortly before the official launch of the platform, turning 20 years old even before Steam itself did. The earliest two accounts, created just one second apart from each other, belonged to Valve employees Steven Noonan and Erik Johnson. In honor of the platform's birthday, Valve has gifted the inaugural Steam accounts with a unique version of the Years of Service badge, featuring the original army green color scheme Steam had on release.
According to SteamDB, only 146 accounts currently possess this badge, with some of them still active even after two decades.
