Steam Deck Has Reportedly Sold Over 1 Million Units

While Valve has been quiet about the shipments of Steam Deck, KDE's David Edmundson shared that portable PC sales surpassed 1 million units.

Valve's portable PC Steam Deck has reportedly sold over 1 million units. That's according to David Edmundson from KDE, the company that created KDE Plasma, a Linux desktop environment used by the Steam Deck when in desktop mode.

Meanwhile, Valve has been quiet about the shipments of its handheld, so the information provided by Edmundson is not official. Still, as Edmundson works for KDE, he might have some degree of understanding of the portable PC’s sales performance.

Edmundson spoke about the sales of Steam Deck during the Q&A session at KDE’s Akademy 2022 conference where he also noted that Valve is currently still processing back orders, so there will be more shipments.

Valve has not yet officially commented on Steam Deck shipment volumes, however, the company said last month that it was ahead of its forecasts and began fulfilling orders scheduled for the third quarter of 2022.
