Stop-Motion-Style Indie Game Where Every Scene & Character Was Made by Hand

Harold Halibut is a cinematic adventure with unique visuals created by the Slow Bros. team.

Indie game development studio Slow Bros. has recently shared an official gameplay trailer for Harold Halibut, an upcoming cinematic adventure game featuring incredible stop-motion-like aesthetics reminiscent of Nick Park's and Tim Burton's classic works.

Set within a city-sized spaceship submerged in an alien ocean, the game follows the story of Harold, a young lab assistant, as he embarks on a quest to uncover the true meaning of 'home'. Throughout your journey, you'll explore a vast and vibrant retro-futuristic world filled with mesmerizing locations and a variety of unique characters whose personalities and quirks you'll be able to learn through conversations.

However, the game's most striking aspect is its unique graphics, which give Harold Halibut the appearance of a stop-motion animation. According to the developers, each element of the game was physically crafted (e.g. sculpted from clay, carved from wood, painted by hand, sewn, etc.) in real life, 3D scanned, and incorporated into the game. This impressive pipeline enabled the developers to achieve the distinctive visual style that sets Harold Halibut apart.

  • An expansive Character Ensemble: Meet a variety of unique characters and get to know their personalities, quirks, and stories through meaningful conversations.
  • A riveting cinematic storyline: Journey through a captivating narrative, underscored by a carefully orchestrated script that blends drama, humor, and suspense.
