Stratosphere From Transformers: ROTB Was So Heavy, He Choked Google's Cloud Render Farm

Rassoul Edji shared a fun story from the production.

Rassoul Edji, a seasoned VFX Artist who worked on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, recently shared a new anecdote, revealing that Autobot Stratosphere was such a data-heavy character that Google complained his asset was overwhelming their cloud render farm's I/O capacity, which forced the team to optimize the model even further.

Rassoul has previously shared fun insights from some earlier Transformers films, as well as other projects like Pacific Rim, where the Jaegers used an average of over 1,000 UDIMs at 4K resolution for their textures.
