No particles were used in Adam Swaab's work.
Adam Swaab created a truly marvelous masterpiece: a procedural nebula, an animated scene that can steal your breath away with its beauty.
The nebula was made in Houdini, an extremely powerful software for such simulations, which has shown its capabilities many times before – on land, in water, and in the sky.
The project consists of "pure volumes," with no particles involved, rendered in a little under 3 minutes per frame with two 4070 Ti Super GPUs.
Swaab is working on a system to turn a rough arbitrary point cloud into a nebula volume through an algorithmic upressing technique and volumetric rasterization, so expect more from him.
