Stunning VFX When Completing A Puzzle In A Chess Game

Chess Infinity is now available on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Epic Games Store.

RipstoneGames has shared a clip showing the visual effects when a puzzle is solved in their chess game, Chess Infinity, which was created with the Unreal Engine.

Chess Infinity aims to be your personal chess mentor. It will help you grow into a master by offering feedback and interactive tutorials designed to make learning intuitive and fun. “Relive each moment, replay your matches, and analyze your gameplay move by move, sharpening your skills with thoughtful precision,” the game description reads.

Aion, Chess Infinity’s Grandmaster-crafted AI mentor, will be a perfect companion, offering the right challenges according to your skill level. Or, if you’d like to compete with real players, the game also supports cross-platform play, so you can challenge friends or global competitors.

Unlike in real life, you can choose to be playing chess in 19 beautiful spaces across four exquisite locations, for example, some tranquil environments with dense Japanese atmospheres filled with sakura trees and traditional Japanese buildings and decorations,  a place covered by snow, or bathed in the warm glow of sunset. It diversifies the experiences.

Besides the one showcased in the video, there are 89 meticulously designed puzzles to resolve. As you progress in the game, more chess sets, from intricate walrus ivory to gleaming precious metals, can be unlocked. According to RipstoneGames, the visual effects upon solving a puzzle designed to “give chess newcomers massive jolts of energy when they do something great” can be turned off if you prefer a simpler celebration.
