Gregory Bouzid shared his work on Trash.
We're getting more snippets from the short movie Trash; this time, its co-director and FX/CFX artist Gregory Bouzid showed the character he worked on the most – a pigeon.
He handled the modeling, texturing, shading, grooming, and CFX of the bird, and it was a challenge "since none of us had ever done any winged character before."
"Our artistic direction was about balancing a stylized look with realistic and dirty one, in order to make the characters and the environment look unhealthy," Bouzid shared. "The feathers of the pigeon are made using a blend of modeling, grooming and hair cards depending on the body part, some are simulated with guides, the others within the rig. For the texture it's mostly handpainted but there is a layer of realistic detailed texture added to it, and even more in the shading."
