Take a Look at This City Builder With Detailed Urban Customization
Citystate Metropolis combines real-world data and procedural generation.
Citystate Metropolis is an upcoming city builder featuring gridless zoning tools and procedurally generated buildings, developed by Andy Sztark. The game is scheduled for Q1 2026.
In the game, you can create neighbourhoods of all shapes and types. The editor offers you control over building footprints, setbacks, floor counts, and parking spaces. You can craft cities of different types, taking into account their socioeconomic profiles: the ones with simple and cheap buildings to decrease housing costs or fancy and eco-friendly urban areas to increase land value and attract foreign investors.

Citystate Metropolis offers possibilities to choose height, width, colors, and shapes of residential, commercial, industrial, and service buildings, along with 40 road types and a park editor. Apart from this, you will manage your town, balancing the budget and collecting taxes.

The map editor features an innovative approach that mixes real-world data and procedural generation. Along with the buildings, you can add rivers and lakes and adjust forest density or terrain steepness. The realism of the game is enhanced with the possibility to populate cities, using a crowd-based simulation that enables realistic population numbers.
