Take a Look at This Stunning Deadpool Animation Created in Maya

Robert Morrison showcased his professional artwork made with a rig by Kiel Figgins.

Check out this awesome Deadpool animation created by Robert Morrison, an Artist who worked on The Last of Us Part I, God Of War (2018), Injustice 2, and Resident Evil 7, with a rig by Animator Kiel Figgins.

This is the artist's personal project made in Maya. Movements of a real-life person were used as a reference, and the character's body position almost entirely repeats a person's motion, allowing for a high level of graphic fidelity and accurate representation of the character's physics. The clip comparing real-life and animated movements depicts one of the project stages, as some hand and leg movements are not animated yet, and the background isn't polished.

Take a look at the final version of the animation:

According to the creator, it is entirely hand-key-framed. He shared that he enjoys working with a mocap as it is a great baseline to work off, especially for realistic animations. However, the artist always modifies it extensively.
