Jafar Dashtinejad shared his new R&D project.
Senior FX Artist Jafar Dashtinejad, whose Houdini-made rain simulation we previously featured, has now presented his latest project: a realistic waterfall set in a mountain landscape.
He mentioned that the simulation part was an exciting opportunity to experiment with different techniques and see how they influenced the final result. This scene was rendered at a resolution of 2880x1620 and 256 samples using Karma XPU, with a render time of just 8 minutes per frame, which is great for such a complex scene with multiple simulation layers and dense geometry.
