Strauss Zelnick commented on how Rockstar approaches the new installment in the Grand Theft Auto series.
During a recent appearance on the Aarthi and Sriram podcast, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on Rockstar's approach to the highly-anticipated next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, saying that the studio's primary objective for GTA VI is to achieve nothing less than perfection.
Discussing the challenge of making and launching sequels, Zelnick briefly spoke about the highly-anticipated continuation of the series, saying that the biggest challenge Rockstar faces with each new GTA game is to deliver something truly new and unique and noting that the current strategy adopted by the developer is to strive for perfection in order to meet this challenge.
"I think that's a challenge that the folks at Rockstar face every time there's a new iteration of Grand Theft Auto," commented Zelnick. "It needs to be something you've never seen before on the one hand, and it needs to reflect the feeling that we have about Grand Theft Auto. That's a big challenge for the team. Now, Rockstar's answer is just to seek perfection, seek nothing short of perfection, and we'll get there."
Earlier, the CEO also discussed the speculations that Take-Two might have hinted at the potential launch of Grand Theft Auto VI as early as 2024, clarifying that Take-Two's report did not imply any specific game releases such as GTA VI. He also noted last week that the publisher has 48 new games in store, nearly half of which will be brand-new IPs.
