Valve is currently facing a backlash from fans of its nearly 17-year-old first-person shooter game, Team Fortress 2, due to the issue of game-breaking aimbots. The game's recent Steam reviews have dived to "Mostly Negative" as upset players vented their frustrations through user reviews, with only 21% being positive, in contrast to its "Very Positive" lifelong review of 89% positive.

Flooding the game with negative reviews isn't the only method the community is using to make their voices heard. A petition has also been set up by the community, which has so far amassed over 210,000 signatures and the number continues to go up. The petition page states:
“For the past five years, Team Fortress 2 has become nearly unplayable. The game’s official servers have been overrun by hordes of cheating aimbots while Valve has remained steadfast in their refusal to adequately tackle the problem.
This lack of developer interference has thrown the game into a state of turmoil with seemingly no end in sight.”
Despite the huge splash made so far, as of now, neither the Team Fortress 2 team nor Valve have responded to the issue. Ironically, the last tweet from the Team Fortress 2 account was them saying they've heard the community's concerns and are working on it. They posted that two years ago during another bot crisis, but to players disappointment, no improvements have been made since then.
