TeamSpeak Reports "Incredible Surge Of New Users"
The reveal follows Discord's recent rollout of a new age verification policy.
Starting in March, all Discord users will receive a "teen-by-default" experience unless they can verify that they are at least 18 years old using a video selfie or government-issued ID. This announcement has sparked backlash, especially in light of previous security incidents where users' IDs were exposed.
TeamSpeak emerged as a competitor to Discord early last year, as many Discord users were already looking for alternatives due to several platform changes. Well, the latest news may be the final straw, as TeamSpeak revealed that it has reached full hosting capacity in many regions, particularly in the United States.
