Tencent Acquires Back 4 Blood Studio

The company, which previously created Evolve and Left 4 Dead, was bought alongside its parent company Slamfire Inc. The teams decided not to disclose the terms of the acquisition. The studio is said to retain its independence under the management of studio co-founders Phil Robb and Chris Ashton.

The team's latest project is Back 4 Blood which arrived on PC and consoles in October – the game was published with Warner Bros. Later, the game also visited Xbox Game Pass.

"Tencent's outstanding partners, global reach, deep knowledge of gaming and unprecedented support will help us create the kinds of ambitious games we dream of, while allowing us to retain our autonomy and independent spirit."
