The Coffin Dance Meme Reimagined as a LEGO Animation in Blender

Reddit user Annie Rection breathed new life into the dead meme.

A few days ago, aspiring 3D Animator known as Annie Rection blew up on Reddit by showcasing an unusual take on the legendary 2020 Dancing Pallbearers video, a.k.a. the Coffin Dance. Breathing new life into the dead meme, the author reimagined the dance as a LEGO-like 3D animation, using Blender to animate the sequence and Cycles to handle the rendering process.

As for the dancers and background minifigures, those come from Mecabricks, an online platform that lets you easily create 3D LEGO models from the convenience of your browser or download pre-made ones from its extensive asset library. According to the creator, the project's main goal was to get better at creating LEGO animations.

In the future, the artist plans to share even more LEGO-style animations, so we highly encourage you to follow Annie Rection on Reddit and YouTube so as not to miss any upcoming projects.

And if you'd like to create a similar sequence yourself, here are some excellent tutorials that will help you get started:
