The Cyberpunk 2077 Mod that Adds Police Car Chases

The modder improved the car chase sequences adding the ability to use weapons while driving and reworking in-game encounters with police and other enemies.

While Cyberpunk 2077 players complain about the lack of police car chases in the game and hope that CD Projekt Red will redesign the police system, the modders have already reworked the car chase sequences adding the ability to use weapons while driving and improving the AI of police officers and other enemies.

The main innovation of the mod for Cyberpunk 2077, created by the user of the Nexus website under the nickname Scissors is the ability to use weapons while riding motorcycles and cars. More than that, this fan project rebuilds the police system adding frequent vehicle chases with gunfights all across Night City.

With the mod, players can now shoot back from firearms and use a variety of melee weapons (except for grenades and projectile launchers). The modder also added different durability levels on various vehicles increasing the strength of many of them. According to the creator, access to shooting from cars was already embedded in the Cyberpunk 2077 code, but CDPR developers decided to disable this feature for some reason.

The modder has also reworked in-game encounters with police and other enemies who are now actively calling for backup that arrives in cars and chases the players if they try to escape. The new enemies gradually get tougher which is marked by stars. At four stars threat level, MaxTac or Militech arrive at the scene.

The author has also admitted that the mod has several weak spots including the unnatural looks of shooting animations and the use of cold weapons saying that he'll try to fix them in future updates.
