Techland celebrates 30 million sales of the Dying Light series and the one-year anniversary of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
Techland has revealed that the cumulative sales of two parts of its survivor zombie series Dying Light have surpassed 30 million copies. The announcement was made on the first anniversary of the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
To commemorate the first anniversary of Dying Light 2 Techland is hosting a week-long celebration during which players will be able to purchase Dying Light 2 with a 50% discount.
The company will also hold two themed events – Bloody Anniversary, which started on January 31 and will continue till February 1, and Dropkick Weekend, which will take place from February 9 to February 13. During the events, players have the opportunity to receive rewards by completing community goals.
In addition, the developer shared some details on content that players should expect during the second year of Dying Light 2.
In response to player feedback, the game's ragdoll and body physics will undergo changes in the near future to enhance the combat experience and make it feel more impactful. The night will also be made darker and filled with even more terror.
Later this year, players can look forward to an improvement in Dying Light 2's acclaimed parkour system and a renewal of its core combat mechanics. Techland also teased the upcoming story DLC and hinted that players may encounter familiar characters from the first game.
Dying Light 2 was released on February 4, 2022, with developers promising the 5-year post-launch support for the game which was seen as a bold plan when it was announced. However, with its impressive sales performance, this level of support is likely to be a profitable investment for the studio.
