The Instant Terra Team Announces Bridge to Houdini

The new module might be super helpful when working on large-scale procedural worlds.

Wysilab announced a new module that is coming soon to Instant Terra. The new feature will let users create a terrain project in InstantTerra and define the parameters to be exposed in Houdini. "Now you just have to link the Instant Terra project with an Instant Terra node in Houdini and the terrain is ready to use," writes the team.

The tool's latest version is Instant Terra 2.3. The update added three new erosion nodes for a wider range of results: Thermal erosion, Multi-scale erosion, and Mountain aging.

Thermal erosion is a new algorithm that enlarges river banks. Wysilab says it is similar to hydraulic erosion but gives wider results. As for Multi-scale erosion, the erosion simulation is applied at various scales and erodes the terrain more deeply than simple hydraulic or thermal erosion.
