The Last of Us Season 2 Official Teaser Revealed by HBO & Max

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return to their roles, and Catherine O'Hara will join the cast in an undisclosed part.

The second season of the acclaimed The Last of Us, the series based on the video game franchise by Naughty Dog, will be released in 2025. A new official teaser trailer was unveiled on September 26, which among the series' fans is also known as Outbreak Day, as it was the date of the events that dramatically catalyzed the plot.

The new season will follow the story five years later after the first part. "Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind," reads the official logline to season 2.

Pedro Pascal will continue portraying Joel, and Bella Ramsey will feature as Ellie, along with Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Rutina Wesley as Maria. The sequel will introduce new faces like Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, and Young Mazino, as well as the renowned Catherine O'Hara. Her role remains undisclosed, yet she seems to be conducting a therapy session for Joel in the trailer.

HBO also showcased artwork dedicated to the series created by Greg Ruth:

The Last of Us is one of the most successful HBO shows. Its first episode was watched by 4.7 million viewers, making it the second-largest debut on HBO since 2010.
