The Next Tomb Raider Will Be Powered by Unreal Engine 5

Crystal Dynamics has announced that the new game is already in the works and will be powered by UE5.

During The State of Unreal 2022 live stream, Crystal Dynamics' Dallas Dickinson announced that the studio's next Tomb Raider game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. What's more, the next chapter of Lara Croft's adventures is already in the works. The team comments that the newly released engine will help them to take their storytelling to the next level. This will be the first mainline Tomb Raider game since 2018's Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

"Our goal is to push the envelope of fidelity and to deliver the high-quality cinematic action-adventure experience that fans deserve from both Crystal Dynamics and the Tomb Raider franchise," stated Dallas during the live stream. "We can't wait to take this journey together."
