Prior to the regulations coming into force, approximately 60% of children and teenagers identified themselves as gamers. Now there are about 40%.
77% of young gamers from the country now play fewer hours a week as a result of the regulation, and 54% only play during approved gaming hours. Only 29% of young Chinese gamers play more than 3 hours a week with parents helping them in this – 82% are allowed to use their ID to enter the game.
The report also reads that 52% of young gamers agree that the time spent playing games should be limited, while 76% believe that video games have a positive impact.
