It is "much more than just a visual upgrade".
Obsidian Entertainment has shared that The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, the upcoming remaster of the space RPG, will not only improve graphics but also introduce a "smoother gaming experience".
The developers call it "much more than just a visual upgrade": the game will have smarter combat and companion AI, better open-world sensation, reworked vistas, and updated weather variations.
Of course, there are visual improvements as well: the Spacer’s Choice Edition will boast 4K, 60FPS graphics, volumetric lighting, improved special effects, better particle physics, and enhanced environments with increased asset density and visual storytelling.
Obsidian also mentioned that over 5 million people have played the original game. And if you're not one of those, here is what you can expect:
"Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the edge of the galaxy, you awake decades after your planned date only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the colony. Explore the various planets and locations of Halcyon, including the mysterious Gorgon Asteroid and the delightful distillery on Eridanos. As you encounter various factions, all vying for power, the decisions you make determine how the narrative unfolds."
The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will be available on Xbox Series X|S for the owners of the original game at a reduced price on March 7.
