The Tower of London to Display a Final Fantasy 16 Sword

The sword will be the first video game replica to be displayed at the Tower of London.

A replica of Invictus, the sword of the protagonist from Final Fantasy 16, will be displayed at the Tower of London for one month. The display, open to the public, will be near authentic armor once worn by British royalty.

"It’s thrilling to see the historic art form of sword crafting continue to thrive in the video game space, and what better way to celebrate this than by displaying this exclusive sword from Final Fantasy 16 alongside the Royal Armouries collection of arms and armour," noted Emma Mawdsley, keeper of the Tower Armouries.

The sword was crafted by swordsmith Tod Todeschini, who had to bring the digital sword to the real world. "I knew from the very start this was not going to be an ordinary sword, and challenging in every way, but I’m very pleased with the finished sword and proud that it will be available for the fans to view alongside the Royal Armouries collection in the Tower of London," said the creator.

Mawdsley said they're "very excited to welcome fans of the franchise and gamers alike to the Royal Armouries in the Tower of London." You can find the promo video here

The game will be released on PlayStation 5 on June 22. Earlier this week, Square Enix also discussed the possibility of remaking Final Fantasy VI.
