It was reported that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt got more players on Steam now than it had on the release date. Sounds a bit weird, right? The increase likely appeared because of the Netflix series that are based on the same story and holidays sales.
According to Steam & Game Stats, there are a bit more than 94 000 current players, and the game takes the sixth place in the top games by current player count on Steam. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game was launched in 2015 and got 92 000 players.
The stats show only numbers of Steam players and don't take into account any other distribution platforms. What makes this increase a unique phenomenon is that games rarely reach the number of players that they got on the day of release. However, the change isn't that big and consists of a few thousand players, it is still a good shift for the game.
