The long-awaited continuation of the saga gets its first announcement trailer.
During The Game Awards 2024, CD Projekt unveiled the long-awaited announcement trailer for the next game in The Witcher franchise, dubbed The Witcher IV.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and running on a yet-unannounced NVIDIA GPU, the trailer confirms Ciri as the protagonist of what the developers describe as "the new saga," demonstrating her getting rid of a forest monster and telling the villagers that there are "no gods" living in the woods.
"The Witcher IV is an upcoming single-player open-world RPG from CD PROJEKT RED, the creators of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," reads the trailer's description. "The beginning of a new saga, and a follow-up to one of the most acclaimed RPGs of all time, Ciri takes center stage as the protagonist, embarking on her own journey to become a professional monster slayer."
