Hours watched decreased by around 27% compared to Season 3.
Netflix has officially revealed the viewership numbers for The Witcher's fourth season – heavily disliked by regular viewers and critics both – showing that the show's viewership fell by a staggering 51% compared to Season 3.

In the first four days following its Thursday premiere, Season 4 amassed 7.4 million views, securing second place on the English TV list, behind only Nobody Wants This Season 2 and its 9.4 million views. While still strong compared to most shows, this performance represents a sharp decline from The Witcher Season 3, which garnered 15.2 million views in its first four days – a drop of over 50% for the latest installment.
In another key metric for Netflix, hours watched, Season 4 fell by roughly 27% compared to Season 3, totaling 53.2 million hours versus S3's 73 million. According to viewer feedback, the decline can largely be attributed to the same reasons Season 4 scored a dismal 20% on Rotten Tomatoes: weak plot, poorly written characters, and miscasts all across the board, most notably the replacement of Henry Cavill with Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.
As of this writing, neither Netflix nor The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich have commented on the show's poor performance compared to the previous seasons, or on whether its damaged reputation and low scores will affect Season 5 – expected to premiere sometime in 2026 – in any way.
