The Elden Ring players have proved that it's possible to beat the game without any amount of damage from any source, or even without any attacking.
Over the past weekend, FromSoftware's Elden Ring saw some impressive accomplishments made by players: one of them completing what appears to be the world’s first recorded no-hit/no-damage run and another beating the game without dealing any direct damage.
Runner Seki, as spotted by PCGamesN, has managed to complete Elden Ring in 2 hours and 43 minutes without getting any amount of damage from any source. As Seki noted on his YouTube channel, his goal was to "reach the credits without taking a hit/stagger from enemies or traps, or any form of damage including fall damage/poison, etc."
The world's first record was done live on stream with Seki announcing the great news on Twitter afterward. While some pointed out that the result had previously been accomplished by streamer GinoMachino on March 13, Seki claims that a no-hit/no-damage run is much harder to complete than just a no-hit run as "the player cannot take [any] environmental damage such as fall damage/poison, etc.” “This adds difficulty to the run as I don’t have access to buffs such as Red-Feathered Branchsword which could potentially increase my damage output if I had low health," the runner explained to Kotaku.
Another popular Souls-like YouTuber, Iron Pineapple, as reported by VG247, has proved that it is possible to complete the so-called "pacifist run" – beating the game without ever attacking. Instead, the player focused on such tools as summoned spirits to let them deal with the bosses. During his run, Iron Pineapple mostly relied on summonable Fanged Imps along with several speedrun tactics that let major parts of the game be skipped.
