This 2.5D Side-Scroller ARPG Set in a Painterly Dark Fantasy World Gets a Release Date

Mandragora is coming next April. 

Primal Game Studio has announced that their story-driven, side-scroller action RPG Mandragora will be released in April 2025. This news has excited the fans who have been eagerly waiting for years to enjoy this game with deep Metroidvania and Soulslike elements. 

If you missed our previous coverage about the game, Mandragora invites you to travel through a world filled with vicious monsters and try not to succumb to the damaging effects of Entropy. You will have to fight deadly bosses and make difficult moral choices to survive in this dark, painterly 2.5D world.

The game offers a wide range of classes to choose from, from Vanguard to Spellbinder, and players can customize their skills and powers with the character development system. "Find Artisans to join your Caravan and unlock new upgrades, and craft powerful weapons, armor and trinkets to help you die less and deal death faster." The New Game Plus will offer more and harder challenges with new difficulty levels as you restart being even stronger.

Since the teaser trailer that was released nearly two years ago, the developers have shared more videos on the game's official YouTube Channel, including a 40-minute demo trailer to give the community a deep look at the core gameplay, along with its smooth animation and environmental lighting with unique charm: 

It won't take long to try out the full game, as it will finally arrive on April 17. Pre-orders are now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, offering additional rewards depending on whether you choose the base or Digital Deluxe version.
