This Adorable Metroidvania Platformer Boasts Super Smooth Animations

r1kGAMES, the developer of the indie game Color Story: Pixa's Quest, has recently released footage showcasing an exciting animation improvement for this coming indie game. 

Color Story: Pixa's Quest is a challenging platformer where you play as Pixa. Your mission is to explore a magical but dangerous world, caught in the grasp of the evil wizard Earl Grey. You can run, jump, roll, and bounce smoothly through 21 sprawling levels, collecting 12 special abilities, uncovering secret items, and undertaking time attack challenges. This game is a blend of traditional platformers and metroidvania. While its mechanics are both simple and robust, speedrunners will especially love the fast-paced platforming.

You'll find special abilities within levels that enhance your platforming or offensive capabilities. You can choose to replay earlier levels with new abilities to discover new paths and story points, or you can play it like a traditional linear platformer.

There are treasures to be found in each level, which can be traded in town for upgrades, including new weapons, equipment, and health and magic expansions. Time attacks and deathless runs provide even more treasures.

Here's a list of crazy but fun things you can do in this game:  talk with flowers, roll inside a flaming grass ball, jump on gnomes' heads, and leap over burning piranhas.
