3D backgrounds masterfully blended with traditional hand-drawn 2D animation in Grease Pencil by Giovanni Maurutto.
2D Animator Giovanni Maurutto has once again paid tribute to the iconic Ben 10 series, showcasing a brilliant animation showcasing Ben's flashy transformation into Wildmutt, one of the original ten aliens from the franchise.
As revealed by the creator, the sequence blends together both 2D and 3D elements – the character and visual effects were hand-drawn traditional style in 2D with the help of Blender's Grease Pencil toolset, while the backgrounds are three-dimensional. Additionally, After Effects was used for compositing and sound design, with Giovanni dedicating four months to producing the final piece.
