This Breathtaking Blender-Made Cinematic Will Soon See the Light of Day
In the meantime, here's a collection of some of the snippets from it.
After nearly a year of hard work and sleepless nights, 3D Artist and Animator Kay Hilman has finally finished his breathtaking stylized cinematic, announcing the project's completion over on Twitter. Since mid-2023, Kay has been dedicated to animating NOXIOUS, a short film featuring stunning stylized visuals that appear to envision nature reclaiming human civilization.
Throughout the entirety of the production process, the artist has been teasing the upcoming cinematic, providing regular updates and showcasing glimpses of it with short behind-the-scenes demos. The entire project has been brought to life using Blender, its Geometry Nodes toolset, and Grease Pencil tool, as well as After Effects, which was used for compositing.
Recently, the creator revealed that the project has been completed, thanking the community for supporting him through the production journey. Unfortunately, the final cinematic itself hasn't been revealed as Kay has submitted it to several festivals, but if the artist's Twitter bio is to be believed, we will be able to see the final result very soon. In the meantime, let's revisit some of the previous demos shared by the creator to get a better idea of the final animation and, of course, enjoy its splendid NPR visuals:
