This Hilarious "Comedy Slapformer" is Finally Launched

It stole my money.

The long-awaited "absurd comedy slapformer" Thank Goodness You're Here!, published by Panic, has finally been released, accompanied by a new trailer.

Maybe you missed our previous article introducing this game. Don't sweat it; I missed it too until I began writing this article. The game tells the tale of a traveling salesman who arrives early for a big meeting with the mayor of an unusual Northern English town. With time to kill, he decides to explore and interact with the locals, who quickly task him with a series of increasingly peculiar jobs. As you shape Barnsworth through your actions, you'll explore new areas and engage in fun activities. This humor-filled adventure promises plenty of laughs and surprises.

Before I realized that this was a "'slapformer", I was watching a live stream on Steam where one of the game’s animators was playing the game. The traveling salesman was wandering the streets, slapping every person and object he came across. Yes, slapformer is a fitting label.

It might be a small spoiler here, but it's the reason why I added it to my Library, so I can't help sharing it.

One particularly memorable clip during the livestream shows the salesman on a quest for a penny. After searching high and low, he finally pulls a massive slab of butter from a shelf, which then slips out of the room, shrinking as it goes, until it stops at a woman lying on the ground (apologies, the connection dropped out, so I don't know who she is). To my surprise, the lady uses the butter to clean her armpit (eww), and then eats it. But, she does offer up the coveted penny. Task complete!

I couldn't invest too much time in watching the live gameplay, you know, due to work commitments. Nevertheless, its hilarious comedy animations and styles make my Friday afternoon happier. I believe the 98% of users out of 115 who gave it positive reviews would feel the same. So, it successfully secured my purchase.

If you're after a unique, cartoonish comedy game that promises laughs, don't hesitate to check it out on Steam
