This Paper Mario-Inspired RPG Is Getting a Free Demo This Week

Join brave Flynt Buckler and Dragon Tinder to fight back against capitalism.

Escape from Ever After is a cute and amusing adventure RPG inspired by the classic Paper Mario games. We first covered this game in March and are excited to share that a free demo version, "Escape from Ever After: Onboarding," featuring the game’s first chapter, is launching on Steam in three days, on July 19th. A new trailer for the game accompanies this announcement.

The game is developed by Sleepy Castle Studio based in Montreal. If you missed our previous report, it tells the story of a new storybook hero Flynt Buckler, who will be navigating the corporate world of fairytales to fight against capitalism, rallying fellow disgruntled employees, and opposing a greedy megacorp exploiting their realm for cheap labor.

With irresistibly cute characters, and the intention to "make every enemy type unique," the game offers plenty of excitement. For more insight into the game's animations, combat, and more, check out the footage shared by the developer on Twitter:

The demo supports nine languages, so it's very much possible that you can enjoy the game in your native tongue. Wishlist the game and its demo on Steam, try out the prologue, and follow the developer on Twitter to stay updated on all future developments.
