This Industrial City-Builder Reminds Me of Frostpunk without Frost
If you like Farthest Frontier, you'll love New Cycle.
City-builders have been on the rise lately, and here is another interesting experience for you. New Cycle is a game with a focus on survival. Set after an apocalypse, the game tasks you to raise your little settlement to an industrial metropolis.
"The year is 2073. After an apocalyptic series of devastating solar flares, human society has been thrown into disarray. With the technological advancements of the past almost completely lost, the remnants of humanity now struggle to survive. But, even in this desperate world, one thing remains true: as one era ends, another era begins. It is time for a new cycle."
To me, New Cycle visually follows the lead of Farthest Frontier and Banished, while spiritually, it's close to Frostpunk and maybe even Factorio.
The world around is not going to wait for you to grow your city: go against sand storms, wildfires, and other natural disasters to succeed. Of course, there are more factors to ruin your plans, like refugee crises, unrest, and disease outbreaks. You have to make decisions and take responsibility for them – everything for survival.
You will take care of your people's needs and try to make it work fast. Discover forgotten technologies of the old world and establish a well-oiled automation machine that will set up mass production.
