This Is How The Last of Us 2 Could Have Looked from First-Person View

3D Animator Xander Farrell shared a fan take on the game.

3D Animator Xander Farrell shared a fan project showcasing how The Last of Us Part 2 could have looked from a first-person perspective.

It's a personal project that the artist has been working on for 13 months. The artist noted that The Last of Us Part 2 features a unique heartbeat system, which introduces new animations and plays additives over existing animations depending on if a character is injured, under fire, or in a dangerous area. In the original project, Xander Farrell imagined that this unique feature could manifest as different failures, such as improper handling, causing misfeeds and reload animations to transfer the urgency and panic while under harsh conditions.

The animation shows Ellie from a first-person perspective, shooting with a gun and reloading it multiple times. The artist skillfully recreated the game's authentic atmosphere, adding the custom-made character's voiceover and background music that perfectly conveys the mood and suits the game's style.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will launch on PC in 2025, as well as the second season of the series adaptation of the game. Check out the official teaser:
