This New Free Tool Automatically Creates Clean Quad Topology
AutoRemesher is now available.
This project has been in development for quite some time, more than five years, in fact. If the name AutoRemesher sounds familiar, the good news is that Jeremy Hu never gave up on the tool, and AutoRemesher has now officially reached its 1.0 release.
AutoRemesher is a retopology solution for converting high-polygon meshes into quad-based topology. While the generated meshes may still require some manual cleanup, the remeshing process is reportedly pretty fast, making it a solid alternative. And it's also released under the MIT license, free to use, including for commercial projects.
AutoRemesher is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Under the hood, it leverages Geogram, libigl, Isotropic Remesher, and other libraries. You can find setup instructions and learn how to run it here.
