This Relaxing Driving Game Takes You on Endless Journey

Find your zen in Slow Roads.

Do you listen to lo-fi to unwind? Take it a step further: embark on an endless journey in Slow Roads, a relaxing little game where all you have to do is drive.

This casual experience is procedurally generated and only asks you to follow the road, that's it. If you're a rule breaker and decide to take a detour, you will soon find yourself off the map floating in the air above the ocean (but you'll get an achievement, so worth it!)

When you're tired of the familiar scenery, you can change the surroundings, choosing a different season or time of the day, a harder road difficulty, and even another planet. Picking between a car, a motorbike, and a coach, you can also customize your experience to make it your own. For the most calming view, turn on Autodrive and just enjoy the scenery – think of it as a replacement for those generic fireplace videos you set in the background.

Slow Roads was developed by anslo to be surprisingly satisfying.

"Slow Roads exists primarily as an exploration of procedural scenery generation, but also as an experiment testing the boundaries of 3D application development within JavaScript. As a game, this project is a nostalgic love letter to the rolling hills of the Peak District, and to the arcade rally games I would play for hours on end as a child. As a technical demo, I aim to set a high bar and redress the negative idea of what can be accomplished in the browser."

In the future, anslo wants to revamp the game's UI, add new features like user profiles and mobile support, introduce new locations and better vehicle models, improve environmental details, and more.
