This Robot Is Supposed to Be a Rescuer but It Looks More like a Demon

Threehalves is a seven-foot machine wielding a chainsaw that is being developed by Satyress Robotics, and it's planned to enter disaster zones that could be very dangerous for humans to access, but its appearance sparked a lot of comments on social media.
The robot has a humanoid upper body, four legs, glowing eyes, and the best part: a goat-like head with horns. People started comparing it with demonic creatures like Moloch; a user on Twitter/X joked, "Brother if this comes out of the smoke to rescue me from a wildfire, I am running INTO the flames."

In the replies, Satyress explained that the horns were necessary to hold cameras that let them see the position of the limbs and tools. On their official page, they also shared more information about the design:
"Humanlike torso and arms allow for natural teleoperation and interfacing with designed-for-human tools and environments. Quadruped body with friction-braked joints allows for a stable platform with no latent power consumption when not in motion, and increased stability and failsafes over a biped in both normal operation and in the event of loss of motor control."
They also added that all limbs, torso, and head can be replaced and recalibrated in minutes if damaged, and luckily, it won't work autonomously; the idea is for it to be controlled remotely with a computer and joystick.
But just in case, Satyress said the robot is more dangerous than it looks and pointed out the weaker points to stop it if it loses control.
So far, Threehalves is still at a development stage; we don't have a price or release date yet, but Satyress is aiming to create something that could make the job of disaster response crews easier and safer.
