This Stressless Blender Modeling Tool Gets Major Updates

With over 40 updates in 2 years, Fluent is an actively developed tool that constantly receives new features, upgraded Blender compatibility, bug fixes, and more.

Developed by Rudy Michau, Fluent is a modeling solution for Blender, providing a variety of smart tools and a non-destructive workflow with an exceptionally user-friendly interface. Fluent caters to all your hard-surface modeling needs, enabling you to create and edit models and effortlessly make plates and wires, position pipes, convert cuts into grids, and transform faces into cloth panels.

Since our last update on Fluent 2.0's major upcoming release, the add-on has undergone several upgrades, now at version 3.3.0, bringing new tools, shortcuts, numerous bug fixes, and various quality-of-life improvements.

Among the recent big changes are the Duplicate tool, which can duplicate more complex cuts like slice plus cut in sliced part plus cut the cutter of slid part, the Multi-bevel system, and the Reuse option to copy adjustment from another cutter. The add-on has also been translated into 7 languages and is now compatible with Blender 4.2.

Fluent 3.3.0 highlights include:

  • Mirror adjustment for pipe, wire, and screws;
  • Snap grid: The alignment tool (A) had a new option (C) to redraw the grid between 2 points. This is extremely useful for finding a new specific point;
  • All drawing types can be validated as paths. Circle (space), rectangle (space), shape (space or shift space);
  • After a cut, the Boolean object's visibility only takes into account the "auto-hide" preference;
  • The Boolean object has been hidden for the viewport in render mode.

Please note that some objects created with previous versions of Fluent cannot be edited. Some elements have been updated with the latest Blender tools, altering their structure and making the previous code used to edit them obsolete.
