This Stunning Animation Combines 2D & 3D Elements

Moe Katakura, a talented 2D/3D Artist and Animator, has captured the attention of thousands on Twitter with an impressive anime-inspired sequence featuring a scientist with an appearance extremely similar to the mother from everyone's beloved Japanese McDonald's ads.

Created in Blender, an open-source 3D software and Moe's go-to tool, the animation masterfully blends 2D and 3D elements, making it feel like a scene straight out of an anime – albeit with a slightly unorthodox, old-school Shaft-like touch. The artist also shared a couple of work-in-progress shots, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the piece:
