This Unreal-Inspired Nostalgic Arena Shooter to Have a Major Update

Daev Team has brought 90s classic arena shooters to modern PC gaming.

The developer of GHOSTWARE: Arena of the Dead, a nostalgic arena shooter, has announced that the game will leave its early access phase and achieve a full launch on June 10th. Accompanying this update are five new maps, more levels, updates for audio and video, and much more.

The developer, Daev Team, describes the game as "A unique blend of retro-fps, metroidvania and adventure. " You know what to expect from it — a thrilling gaming experience packed with intense combat, sprawling environments to uncover, and a captivating narrative journey.

In this game, you'll step into the shoes of Molly, a character resurrected but trapped within an arena shooter, alongside five other souls. The world is constructed by the enigmatic Wizard, but there seems to be a disturbing flaw in it.

This juicy boss battle footage shared by the game's developer is good proof of how intense the combats could be:

The game has received overwhelmingly positive reviews since its early access launch in April of last year. One of the reviews noted, "plays way more like Unreal, so way more exploring, finding story bits and also some dialogue.”
