This Upcoming UE5 Ninja Gaiden/FF-Style Game Has Slick Combat Animations
Today, let's have a look at some impressive 3D combat and movement animations showcased over the past couple of days by Indie Game Developer known as tototidoppa.
Depicting a gothic anime-style girl with a scythe performing impressive feats of acrobatics and executing lengthy attacking combos, the animations were set up for the developer's upcoming game inspired by Final Fantasy Type-0 and Ninja Gaiden.
As stated by the author, they utilize Unreal Engine 5 to set up the animations, along with its Blueprints system used for game programming. The production pipeline also employs Kawaii Physics, an add-on for UE4 and UE5 that lets its user set up simple fake physics for their games and projects.
Besides animations, tototidoppa's latest demos show the anime character exploring detailed gothic-style environments purchased from the UE Marketplace. According to the developer, they would love to incorporate those asset packs into their project but currently find it too challenging of a task due to how heavy the scenes are.
