Pokémon Black & White's Driftveil City Dancing Toothless meme might be a relic, but the song's charm is eternal. VFX Artist Ethan Du Toit brought the dancing lizard meme into Unreal Engine 5 and placed the animations around the default character.
Here's how it was done according to the artist:
The frames of the dance were converted into an image sequence ("Wouldn't recommend"), all 300 of them were placed into one flipbook ("Bad idea"), and then he spawned cards aligned to the Z-axis ("This flipbook bluescreened me 5 times").
