Toy Story 3 Recreated in Real Life

Two brothers, Morgan and Mason McGrew, re-created the entire Toy Story 3 using stop-motion animation in 8 years.

They were just 15 and 12 years old when they decided to do this, and you have to admit that the final result is stunning. Their project is a mix of real toys, people and sets shot using iPhones and stop-motion animation techniques.

“As soon as we saw Toy Story 3, it became our favorite film, and will forever be,” Mason McGrew told BuzzFeed. “We’d always been huge fans of Pixar and the Toy Story franchise that we eventually decided we wanted to pay tribute to the studio and film that we love so much.”

Stop motion animation is all about patience: one of the brothers states that the creation of a one to a six-second clip contains more than 25 video elements.

“Overall, the hardest thing about this film was staying disciplined,” Mason said. “It was very important to us that we finish what we began as kids.”
